History Reportcarhpireport.co.uk

carhpireport.co.uk is a UK vehicle-data tool that takes a single registration and returns what the official records actually say about the car behind it. No upsold marketing copy in front of the data, no fabricated "risk indicators" pulled from nothing — the report shows what is on file and where it came from. Get a full vehicle history report from £1.99. Finance, stolen, write-off, mileage, MOT and more. Read on for what each finding means in practice and where a check stops being enough on its own.

01 · TRUST

02 · TRUST

Typical lookup completes in under one second from the UK.

03 · TRUST

Built and supported in the UK as part of the consumer side of the network.

01

Reconciling the service book with the record

Compare the mileage stamped in the service book against the mileage recorded at each MOT for the same period. Genuine records track closely. A service stamp showing lower mileage than an MOT taken earlier the same year is either a clerical error or a fabricated stamp, and it is worth resolving before you commit.

02

Test locations and what they suggest

Where DVSA publishes the testing station, a consistent location over several years suggests a settled owner and a regular garage. A different station every year, particularly across distant regions, is worth reconciling against the keeper record — it can indicate a vehicle moved repeatedly through trade hands between private sales.

03

What we do not claim to know

No UK data service sees cash repairs, undeclared accident damage, work carried out abroad, or a fault a seller has simply not mentioned. Where a field is unavailable for a particular vehicle the report says so rather than filling the gap with an estimate, because an invented figure on a report used for a purchase decision is worse than an honest blank.

/ Brand consolidation

carhpireport.co.uk is now Expert Car Check

carhpireport.co.uk is now part of Expert Car Check — the consolidated UK vehicle-data platform that several of these older brands have joined. The data sources are unchanged: DVLA's vehicle record, DVSA's MOT history, MIAFTR for write-offs, contracted UK data providers for stolen-vehicle markers and the UK lender register for outstanding finance. The team and the support contact are the same. What's changed is that the work that was previously spread across several smaller brands now sits in one place, which keeps response times tight and the underlying registers maintained against current DVLA schemas. Bookmarks and historic links to carhpireport.co.uk continue to resolve here. If you were referred to carhpireport.co.uk by a previous report, broker or print listing, this is the right page — there is no further redirect to chase.

/ Common questions

Questions buyers ask about carhpireport.co.uk

Why does the first registration date not match the model year?+

Vehicles are frequently built in one year and registered in the next, and pre-registered stock can sit unsold for months. Registration date is what determines age for valuation, tax and warranty purposes.

Does the history show service records?+

No. Service records are held by garages and manufacturers, not by DVLA, and are not part of any vehicle history report. Ask the seller for the service book and look for stamped, dated entries with mileage.

What does a long SORN period mean?+

A Statutory Off-Road Notification means the vehicle was declared as not used on public roads. A long, recent SORN can simply mean the car was laid up, or it can indicate post-incident storage. Reconcile it against any insurance markers found in the report.

How should I use the advisory list?+

Read it as a maintenance record. Advisories that recur year after year suggest deferred work; advisories that appear once and disappear suggest the repair was done. The pattern is more informative than any single test.
