ULEZ & Clean Air Zone Checker

Estimate likely ULEZ compliance in seconds.

Enter any UK registration. We use the DVLA fuel type and first-registration date to estimate likely compliance with the Euro 4 (petrol) or Euro 6 (diesel) standard used by London ULEZ and the major UK Clean Air Zones. Registration date is a proxy — individual vehicles differ. For a definitive answer, confirm on the official TfL vehicle checker.

How the ULEZ rules work

Petrol — Euro 4

Generally any petrol car first registered from 1 January 2006. Most cars registered in 2005 also qualify if the manufacturer met the standard early.

Diesel — Euro 6

Diesel cars and vans first registered from 1 September 2015. Older diesels typically pay £12.50 per day inside the London ULEZ.

ULEZ compliance is one factor — finance, write-offs and theft markers matter just as much. Paid finance, write-off and stolen-vehicle checks are available on the pricing page. For DVSA MOT history alone, use the free MOT history check.

ULEZ compliance is inferred from DVLA fuel type and registration date. For official confirmation, use the TfL vehicle checker. Charges and zones change — figures are accurate at time of writing.
