How the ULEZ rules work
Most petrol cars registered from 2006 meet Euro 4. Some older cars also qualify. Registration date is only a guide; confirm the vehicle's declared emissions with TfL.
Many diesel cars registered from September 2015 meet Euro 6, but registration date alone does not establish compliance. Confirm the recorded emissions and any exemptions with TfL.

London
ULEZ covers all London boroughs, 24/7 except Christmas Day. £12.50/day for non-compliant cars.
Birmingham
Class D CAZ. Non-compliant cars charged £8/day inside the A4540 ring road.
Bristol
Class D CAZ in the city centre. £9/day for non-compliant cars and vans.
Sheffield
Class C CAZ. Cars exempt; non-compliant vans, taxis, buses and HGVs charged.
Bradford
Class C+ CAZ. Cars exempt; commercial vehicles charged from £7/day.
Newcastle / Gateshead
Tyneside CAZ. Cars exempt; non-compliant commercial vehicles charged.
