EV & hybrid checks

A used EV check has the same provenance, finance and write-off layer as any other vehicle, plus a layer that's unique to electric drivetrains: battery state-of-health, charging history, remaining battery warranty and connector type.

EV Car Check, EV Car Checks and Hybrid Check each return an estimated SoH derived from the manufacturer's diagnostic feed where it's accessible (typically post-2018 vehicles through the OBD port). The figure is an estimate, not a warranty-grade reading; for that, a dealer diagnostic is needed. The same reports include the ratio of DC rapid charging to slower AC charging, which is the single biggest factor in long-term battery wear after age.

For hybrids and plug-in hybrids, the battery and EV-only range matter as much as the engine condition. PHEV batteries typically degrade faster than full-EV batteries because they cycle more frequently between high and low state-of-charge.
