MOT defect with no significant effect on safety or the environment. The vehicle passes, but the defect is recorded on the certificate.
Minor defects are listed on the MOT history record. They typically indicate something approaching a limit — a slight leak, a worn but legal component — and should be repaired at the next service to prevent escalation to a Major at the next test.
