Brake disc wear lip
The raised edge that forms at the outer rim of a brake disc as the friction surface wears. A lip taller than 1mm typically means replacement.
Each manufacturer publishes a minimum disc thickness, usually stamped on the disc itself. Discs below the minimum, or with a deep wear lip, cause uneven pad contact and a Major MOT defect.
